Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Jackson, MS)

Greenridge Rowan Legal Group is a Jackson practice with attorneys, paralegals and client-service staff, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Confidentiality and accuracy are taken very seriously. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around trust accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing records, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with billing records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Jackson. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
