Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Jackson, MS)

Foxglove Orchard Banking Services is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for card disputes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 67 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to card disputes, and clear open items. • Track costs around deposit accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with card disputes. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
