Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Fresno, CA)

We are growing our team at Nova Sparrow Transit Planning and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around service alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with fare systems. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
