Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Fort Worth, TX)

Ironwood Union Telecom is a telecommunications provider in Fort Worth focused on reliable home and business connections, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We keep people connected and take outages personally. What you will do • Track costs around billing accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
