Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Fort Worth, TX)

Highbridge Harbor Environmental Services Group is an environmental-services company in Fort Worth with routes, transfer stations and recycling, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 137 people based in Fort Worth. What you will do • Track costs around fleet maintenance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to landfill records, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with landfill records. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Fort Worth. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
