Senior Accountant - accounts payable (El Paso, TX)

Bluepeak Nest Housing manages affordable housing communities across El Paso. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 157 people based in El Paso. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to resident services, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in El Paso. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
