Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Columbus, OH)

Bluepeak Rowan Banking Services is a community-focused bank in Columbus serving households and small businesses, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We keep decisions close to customers and expect people to explain things plainly. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account openings, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around loan files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with account openings. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
