Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Columbus, OH)

Highbridge Rowan Legal Group is a law firm in Columbus serving businesses and individuals. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client files, and clear open items. • Track costs around document review against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with client files. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
