Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Cleveland, OH)

Stonegate Birch Hospitality is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for reviews and feedback, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 13 people based in Cleveland. What you will do • Track costs around guest bookings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Cleveland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
