Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Cleveland, OH)

Summit Ridge Learning Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for attendance records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We follow the school calendar and we like people who like learning. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to attendance records, and clear open items. • Track costs around school calendars against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with attendance records.
