Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Cleveland, OH)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Stone Freight and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 641 people based in Cleveland. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around dock schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with carrier rates. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
