Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Charlotte, NC)

Ironwood Ember Manufacturing is a Charlotte manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 191 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around work orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to scrap and rework, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with scrap and rework. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Charlotte, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
