Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Charleston, SC)

Lumen Orchard Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Charleston area, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We keep people connected and take outages personally. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage reports, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with outage reports. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
