Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Buffalo, NY)

Stonegate Keystone Transit Planning helps transport agencies around Buffalo design routes and schedules. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to route schedules, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with route schedules. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Buffalo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
