Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Birmingham, AL)

Greenridge Basin Health is a healthcare provider in Birmingham with clinics and support teams. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 85 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around patient scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to patient education, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with patient education.
