Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Baltimore, MD)

Westbrook Ivory Transit Planning is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for service alerts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 314 people based in Baltimore. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service alerts, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with service alerts. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Baltimore. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
