Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Austin, TX)

Stonegate Pike Learning Group is an education provider in Austin serving students and families. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Austin. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to enrolment, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Austin. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
