Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Austin, TX)

Amberfield Pike Markets operates grocery and general-merchandise stores around Austin, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around store inventory against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to promotions, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with promotions.
