Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Albuquerque, NM)

We are growing our team at Bright Bridge Energy Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 21 people based in Albuquerque. What you will do • Track costs around outage response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter readings, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with meter readings. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Albuquerque. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
