Purchasing Coordinator - supplier orders (Birmingham, AL)

Rivermark West Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Birmingham, and we need a Purchasing Coordinator to lead our supplier orders. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Keep stock linked to carrier rates at sensible levels. • Compare prices and delivery times and recommend where to buy. • Maintain supplier records and contracts. • Place and track purchase orders with suppliers. • Match invoices to orders and resolve differences. What we are looking for • Strong spreadsheet and negotiation skills. • Experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory. • Organised and courteous with suppliers. Nice to have • Experience with an ERP system. • Knowledge of suppliers that support carrier rates. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
