Purchasing Coordinator - supplier orders (Birmingham, AL)

Fernwood Meridian Foods Group is a Birmingham food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers. We are hiring a Purchasing Coordinator to take on supplier orders. You would join a small organisation of about 63 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Match invoices to orders and resolve differences. • Maintain supplier records and contracts. • Compare prices and delivery times and recommend where to buy. • Place and track purchase orders with suppliers. • Keep stock linked to customer specifications at sensible levels. What we are looking for • Experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory. • Strong spreadsheet and negotiation skills. • Organised and courteous with suppliers. Nice to have • Knowledge of suppliers that support customer specifications. • Experience with an ERP system. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Birmingham. • We reply to every applicant.
