Purchasing Coordinator - price comparison (Birmingham, AL)

Bright Fern Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Birmingham, and we need a Purchasing Coordinator to lead our price comparison. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Place and track purchase orders with suppliers. • Keep stock linked to loads and lanes at sensible levels. • Match invoices to orders and resolve differences. • Maintain supplier records and contracts. • Compare prices and delivery times and recommend where to buy. What we are looking for • Experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory. • Strong spreadsheet and negotiation skills. • Organised and courteous with suppliers. Nice to have • Experience with an ERP system. • Knowledge of suppliers that support loads and lanes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
