Purchasing Coordinator - inventory replenishment (Birmingham, AL)

Northwind Birch Freight is looking for a Purchasing Coordinator. The job centres on inventory replenishment for loads and lanes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Keep stock linked to loads and lanes at sensible levels. • Place and track purchase orders with suppliers. • Match invoices to orders and resolve differences. • Compare prices and delivery times and recommend where to buy. • Maintain supplier records and contracts. What we are looking for • Organised and courteous with suppliers. • Experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory. • Strong spreadsheet and negotiation skills. Nice to have • Experience with an ERP system. • Knowledge of suppliers that support loads and lanes. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Birmingham. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
