Payroll Specialist - timekeeping audits (Baltimore, MD)

Fernwood Basin Banking Services is a regional lender in Baltimore with branches and a growing mobile service. We are hiring a Payroll Specialist to take on timekeeping audits. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of payroll experience. • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. Nice to have • Payroll certification. • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Baltimore, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
