Payroll Specialist - multi-state payroll (remote)

Fernwood Beacon Financial serves customers across Baltimore with accounts, loans and payments, and we need a Payroll Specialist to lead our multi-state payroll. Career paths are clear. What you will do • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. What we are looking for • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. • Two or more years of payroll experience. Nice to have • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. • Payroll certification. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Baltimore. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
