Payroll Specialist - multi-state payroll (remote)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Maple Staffing and adding a Payroll Specialist whose main responsibility will be multi-state payroll. We are in the people business and act like it. What you will do • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of payroll experience. • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. Nice to have • Payroll certification. • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
