Payroll Specialist - multi-state payroll (New Orleans, LA)

Fernwood Beacon Staffing Group connects candidates and employers across the New Orleans region, and we need a Payroll Specialist to lead our multi-state payroll. Speed and follow-up matter. What you will do • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. What we are looking for • Two or more years of payroll experience. • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. Nice to have • Payroll certification. • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in New Orleans, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
