Payroll Specialist - multi-state payroll (Knoxville, TN)

Nova Ember Staffing is looking for a Payroll Specialist. The job centres on multi-state payroll for onboarding, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. What we are looking for • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. • Two or more years of payroll experience. Nice to have • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. • Payroll certification. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Knoxville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
