Payroll Specialist - hourly payroll (Birmingham, AL)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Loom Construction and adding a Payroll Specialist whose main responsibility will be hourly payroll. You would join a large organisation of about 288 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. What we are looking for • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. • Two or more years of payroll experience. Nice to have • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. • Payroll certification. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
