Payroll Specialist - hourly payroll (Birmingham, AL)

Fernwood Pine Financial Group is looking for a Payroll Specialist. The job centres on hourly payroll for loan applications, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. What we are looking for • Two or more years of payroll experience. • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. Nice to have • Payroll certification. • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Birmingham. • We reply to every applicant.
