Payroll Specialist - benefit deductions (remote)

Northwind Technologies is looking for a Payroll Specialist. The job centres on benefit deductions for account openings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We promote from within and train well. What you will do • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. What we are looking for • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. • Two or more years of payroll experience. Nice to have • Payroll certification. • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
