Payroll Specialist - benefit deductions (remote)

Fernwood Iron Staffing is a Grand Rapids staffing firm for warehouse, office and healthcare roles. We are hiring a Payroll Specialist to take on benefit deductions. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. What we are looking for • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. • Two or more years of payroll experience. • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. Nice to have • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. • Payroll certification. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Grand Rapids. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
