Payroll Specialist - benefit deductions (Oakland, CA)

Lumen Cobalt Construction delivers building projects for owners across the Oakland region, and we need a Payroll Specialist to lead our benefit deductions. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. What we are looking for • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. • Two or more years of payroll experience. Nice to have • Payroll certification. • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system.
