Payroll Specialist - benefit deductions (Oakland, CA)

Rivermark Glen Banking Services is looking for a Payroll Specialist. The job centres on benefit deductions for fraud alerts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. What we are looking for • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. • Two or more years of payroll experience. • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. Nice to have • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. • Payroll certification. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
