Payroll Specialist - benefit deductions (Des Moines, IA)

Cedar Oak Banking Services is a community-focused bank in Des Moines serving households and small businesses, and we need a Payroll Specialist to lead our benefit deductions. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. What we are looking for • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. • Two or more years of payroll experience. Nice to have • Payroll certification. • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
