Payroll Specialist - benefit deductions (Charlotte, NC)

We are growing our team at Northwind Lantern Construction and adding a Payroll Specialist whose main responsibility will be benefit deductions. You would join a small organisation of about 166 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Answer employee pay questions promptly and clearly. • Handle garnishments, benefit deductions and new-hire setup. • Audit timecards and resolve discrepancies with supervisors. • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried staff. • Prepare quarterly filings and year-end forms. What we are looking for • Knowledge of wage-and-hour rules and multi-state basics. • Two or more years of payroll experience. • Strong accuracy, especially under a deadline. Nice to have • Experience with ADP, Paycom or a similar system. • Payroll certification. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Charlotte. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
