Operations Manager - vendor management (San Jose, CA)

Amberfield Birch Environmental Services collects and processes waste and recycling around San Jose, and we need an Operations Manager to lead our vendor management. You would join a large organisation of about 957 people based in San Jose. What you will do • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Track performance measures for fleet maintenance and act on them. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Experience with weigh tickets. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in San Jose. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
