Operations Manager - vendor management (San Diego, CA)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Union Foods Group and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be vendor management. Food safety is non-negotiable and we train for it. What you will do • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Track performance measures for customer specifications and act on them. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with cold storage. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
