Operations Manager - vendor management (remote)

We are growing our team at Cedar West Freight and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be vendor management. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Track performance measures for customer tracking and act on them. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Experience with proof of delivery. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in St. Louis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
