Operations Manager - vendor management (remote)

Lumen Union Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Oakland, and we need an Operations Manager to lead our vendor management. You would join a large organisation of about 420 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Experience with field inspections. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
