Operations Manager - vendor management (remote)

Fernwood Basin Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in Hartford with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on vendor management. Early starts and steady work; we look after our drivers. What you will do • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Track performance measures for weigh tickets and act on them. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with landfill records. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Hartford. • We reply to every applicant.
