Operations Manager - vendor management (remote)

Bright Orchard Freight Group is a Indianapolis logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on vendor management. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Track performance measures for claims and act on them. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with dock schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Indianapolis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
