Operations Manager - vendor management (remote)

Fernwood Oak Foods produces packaged foods at its Madison plant, and we need an Operations Manager to lead our vendor management. We like people who take pride in what they make. What you will do • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Track performance measures for ingredient orders and act on them. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with sanitation schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Madison. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
