Operations Manager - vendor management (remote)

We are growing our team at Summit Mill Transit Planning and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be vendor management. You would join a small organisation of about 137 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Track performance measures for ridership counts and act on them. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Experience with fare systems. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Virginia Beach. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
