Operations Manager - vendor management (remote)

Westbrook Fern Freight is a Columbus logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on vendor management. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track performance measures for proof of delivery and act on them. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with carrier rates. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
