Operations Manager - vendor management (remote)

Fernwood Rook Construction is a Detroit contractor with project managers, trades and support staff. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on vendor management. We build things that last and we are honest about schedules. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Track performance measures for change orders and act on them. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with materials orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Detroit. • We reply to every applicant.
