Operations Manager - vendor management (remote)

Bright Lakeside Freight Partners coordinates shipments and warehousing around St. Louis. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on vendor management. You would join a small organisation of about 13 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Track performance measures for proof of delivery and act on them. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Experience with loads and lanes. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in St. Louis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
