Operations Manager - vendor management (Houston, TX)

Fernwood Pike Construction is looking for an Operations Manager. The job centres on vendor management for project schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 122 people based in Houston. What you will do • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Track performance measures for project schedules and act on them. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Experience with materials orders. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Houston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
