Operations Manager - vendor management (Hartford, CT)

Fernwood Orchard Environmental Services collects and processes waste and recycling around Hartford. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on vendor management. You would join a large organisation of about 596 people based in Hartford. What you will do • Track performance measures for weigh tickets and act on them. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with service complaints. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Hartford. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
