Operations Manager - vendor management (Hartford, CT)

Fernwood Orchard Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around Hartford, and we need an Operations Manager to lead our vendor management. You would join a small organisation of about 181 people based in Hartford. What you will do • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with route schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Hartford. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
